Our story is as much about our members as it is about us.
Kevin Pons, MA, CCC-A, has completed more than 1,300 course hours through AudiologyOnline, making him Continued's record-holder for number of continuing education hours earned. He joins the Continued community from Dakota Dunes, South Dakota, where he serves as the Senior Audiologist for Ear, Nose, and Throat Consultants and Hearing Services. Originally from Connecticut, he previously practiced in Iowa before calling South Dakota home.
"I continue in audiology for the same reasons I began: a love of interesting work combined with service to my patients."
What first ignited your interest in audiology?
While studying at the University of Connecticut, I became interested in audiology because of its attractive blend of interesting knowledge and service.
What makes you so passionate about the field?
I continue in audiology for the same reasons I began: a love of interesting work combined with service to my patients. As Winston Churchill said, "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give."
What value does online learning hold for you?
I credit my grandmother for giving me a thirst for knowledge, and AudiologyOnline helps me in quenching that thirst.
What impact has Continued had on your ability to advance your training or apply new skills to your area of practice?
The range and variety of learning that is available is staggering and keeps me busy all year. It also keeps me out of trouble while ensuring I keep my edge. My recommendation for new audiologists is to get a membership to Continued’s AudiologyOnline. No matter how smart we are, there is always something we don't know.
Thank you, Kevin Pons, for being a part of our Continued story.
