Simucase, Continued’s sister company, was the exclusive sponsor of a virtual 5K walk/run event to benefit the American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation (ASHFoundation).
This was the ASHFoundation’s first virtual 5K and replaced typical in-person fundraising events this year due to the pandemic.
Nearly 1250 participants took part in the inaugural event from their individual locations around the world on or before August 29, 2020.
The event exceeded $35,000 in proceeds, which will go directly to the ASHFoundation to support students, researchers, and clinicians—and, ultimately, people with communication disorders.
“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated in the virtual 5K for helping to raise critical funds for ASHFoundation scholarships, research grants, and recognition programs. You are truly helping change the lives of people dealing with hearing, speech, and language disorders on a daily basis.” — Stacy Williams
“The pandemic hindered the ASHFoundation’s ability to hold traditional fundraising events this year, but it has been so uplifting to see the ‘team spirit’ of so many who helped bring this COVID-friendly virtual fundraiser to fruition,” said Stacy Williams, PhD. Williams is CEO of Simucase, COO of continued, and an ASHFoundation board member.
“The ASHFoundation’s mission of supporting innovators and sparking innovation is so important to our profession. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated in the virtual 5K for helping to raise critical funds for ASHFoundation scholarships, research grants, and recognition programs. You are truly helping change the lives of people with hearing, speech, and language disorders.”
As a sponsor, Simucase also gave away three Apple Watches in a drawing.
