This webinar is the first in a series of webinars that address working with LGBTQ+ youth in the child welfare system. This webinar focuses on understanding pathways into care and the challenges associated with the safety of LGBTQ+ youth in the child welfare system. In addition, an introduction to implementing trauma-informed child-welfare practices.

"Just leave, and you'll be safe." This widely held misconception that abuse ends after a victim leaves a domestic violence situation places these survivors and their families at risk. This webinar focuses on what you can do to support survivors of domestic violence, mitigate the abuse that continues after they have left the relationship, and heal in the aftermath.

We all think we can describe our own personality – but how do psychologists define and measure personality? The likelihood of mental health professionals encountering suicidal ideation in their work is high when serving diverse populations suffering from mental illness, trauma, and adversity. Assessment tools, clinical steps taken, and documentation of efforts as a helping professional are vital to the well-being of both client and clinician during times of high stress. This training identifies and discusses known risk factors in suicide assessment and prevention as well as safety planning strategies to address symptom management and thoughtful treatment planning with a person at risk.
