This course explores the unique mental health challenges facing millennials and potential clinical interventions to address those mental health challenges.

This webinar is designed to meet the biennial licensure renewal requirements for Pennsylvania healthcare licensees. Content includes the nature of the child welfare system in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the aspects of child abuse in Pennsylvania law, potential indicators of child abuse, the provisions and responsibilities for reporting suspected child abuse, and how to make appropriate referrals to the child welfare system. This course was updated in 2020 to include new information required due to changes in the law.

Statistically, over 50% of the people with a mental illness (MI) have a co-occurring substance use disorder (SUD). This workshop will provide training on how to assess and treat this special population.

This course will cover the basics of Motivational Interviewing and includes a practical look at how it can be used in most treatment settings.

This course will discuss the signs that go beyond depression to reveal active suicidal or self-harm risk. We will address the prevalence of suicidality in long-term care settings, elevated risks in care transitions, steps to improve the comfort and ability to conduct effective interviews and risk assessments, the Baby Boomer cohort effect, and provide clinical tips and resources.

This training describes the required elements for responding to the emerging needs of long term care communities to provide sensitive and respectful services to LGBT elders. The training reviews definitions related to sexual orientation and gender identity, challenges experienced by LGBT older adults, and strategies for communication and policies that honor residents’ rights.

This course will present concrete, specific therapeutic strategies for managing complex patients and their families. This may include patients who are non-adherent to medical recommendations, have significant medical complexity, and/or other multicultural/diversity issues.

This two part course is designed to provide an overview of intimate partner violence (IPV), its causes, the prevalence, and its impact on victims as well as children. In addition, this course explores elder abuse and discusses assessment for IPV and elder abuse and intervention strategies.

This course will cover the purpose and use of psychiatric medications and medication-assisted treatment for persons in recovery from co-occurring substance use and mental disorders.

This course defines Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) and reviews how IPV manifests in relationships and how mental health practitioners should assess for IPV and intervene with both victims and perpetrators. This course also addresses elder abuse and assessing and intervening with elder abuse.
