Learn about different sensory processing areas, behaviors seen in those areas, and strategies to support children. Learn about the impact of screen time and “high-tech toys” on the development of young children, as well as fine motor development and how it impacts school readiness. This course is one of five parts comprising a 45-hour package of CDA renewal coursework specific and relevant to the Home Visitor setting. Each part includes 9 hours of content. Parts belonging to this package are labeled “CDA Renewal - Home Visitor, Part A” through “CDA Renewal - Home Visitor, Part E” and may be completed in any order.
This CDA Renewal course consists of new courses effective April 1, 2024.

She has a personal interest and clinical experience working with children with ADHD, Anxiety, OCD, and Sensory Processing disorders. In addition, Emily enjoys supervising, educating, and sharing her enthusiasm with the newest generation of occupational therapists as a clinical instructor to level one and two students from universities across the country. Emily has also presented nationally on relating school-based occupational therapy to Common Core State Standards.
