Pennsylvania Act 31 of 2014: Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training

This webinar is designed to meet the biennial licensure renewal requirements for Pennsylvania healthcare licensees. Content includes the nature of the child welfare system in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the aspects of child abuse in Pennsylvania law, potential indicators of child abuse, the provisions and responsibilities for reporting suspected child abuse, and how to make appropriate referrals to the child welfare system. This course was updated in 2020 to include new information required due to changes in the law.
This course is specifically for PA licensees, and CEUs only apply to the state of PA. Please Note: Applicants for initial PA licensure should contact their licensing board for resources for the required 3-hour mandated reporter training.
Please Note: If you are completing this course as part of license renewal requirements for a Pennsylvania license, Continued Psychology must report your coursework to the Pennsylvania Licensing System (PALS) on your behalf. David W. Stein, Ph.D., is Professor and Program Director of the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Program at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is the Chairman of the Pennsylvania Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. He is past president of the Pennsylvania Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and was previously a member of the Legislative Council of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. In composing this presentation, his role is that of a license holder as a speech-language pathologist. He is not representing the Board of Examiners, the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs, or the Pennsylvania Department of State.
