State Approval Information for Pennsylvania
The following courses are accepted by the Pennsylvania Department of State. They accept courses approved by AARC, and these courses have been approved by AARC for Continuing Respiratory Care Education.
- At least 10 hours shall be obtained through traditional courses. With Continued, live webinars may be used to meet the traditional course requirements.
- One hour must be completed in medical ethics. Continued offers courses to meet the medical ethics requirement.
- One hour must be completed in patient safety. Continued offers courses to meet the patient safety requirement.
- 2-3 hours in child abuse recognition and reporting. Continued offers courses to meet the child abuse recognition and reporting requirement. We do not offer a 3 hour course for initial licensure.
- First time licensure applicants are exempt from completing the continuing education requirements during the initial biennial renewal period in which the license is issued.
