Clinicians will be provided with a supportive space to gain an understanding of their own personal biases, how these impact patient interactions, and strategies to overcome misinformed preconceived notions. Additionally, clinicians gain knowledge as to the biases patients may approach services in the healthcare industry with.

Dr. Katie O’Shea graduated from Thomas Jefferson University in 2006 with her Masters and 2008 with her Doctorate. From there Katie pursued her Master of Business Administration graduating in 2010 from Holy Family University. Katie has clinical experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, homecare, and outpatient settings. She found her clinical passion in working with the geriatric population and is a Board Certified Geriatric Clinical Specialist (GCS) by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists and also a Certified Dementia Practitioner as appointed by the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners. She has co-authored chapters on rehabilitation status post total knee and hip arthroplasty. Katie has spent the last several years of her career in management and leadership development. She has been involved from ground up facility operations to over-seeing established rehabilitation programs. Katie has extensive experience in program development, marketing, staff training, and performance improvement. Katie is a member of the Society of Professional Consultants and is a certified eSpeaker. She currently operates her company, Therapy Edge Consulting, and continues to work per diem in the acute care setting.

Dr. Stephanie Long earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from the University of Delaware in 2006 and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University in 2009. In 2021 she earned a professional certification in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University. She has clinical experience in skilled nursing, outpatient orthopedics, and Geriatric House Calls under the Part B model. Throughout her career, she has continued to develop her clinical and leadership skills and her passion for advocacy for healthcare professionals. She became a board-certified specialist in Geriatrics by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties in 2018 and 2019 and became a Certified Exercise Expert for the Aging Adult by APTA Geriatrics. She was the Co-Chair of the APTA Geriatrics Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force, earning her the 2020 APTA Geriatrics President's Award. She currently serves as the Co-Chair of APTANJ’s Cultural Diversity Committee and as a Delegate for APTANJ. She was also recently selected as a 2022 APTA Association Leadership Scholar.
