Marietta Bibbs is System Manager of Sleep Disorders Services and Clinical Research Coordinator at BayCare Health System in Clearwater, FL. She is the 29th person to achieve registration in sleep technology and the 35th to achieve the CCSH credential.
Marietta is a past president of the Board of Polysomnographic Technology and past chair of the Exam Development Committee. She served as Member-at-Large on the Board of the American Association of Sleep Technologists (AAST). She is a past member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine’s Scoring Manual Committee, the American Association of Sleep Technologists’ Education Committee, and the AAST Healthcare Reform Committee.
Marietta started her career at Baylor College of Medicine and the Michael E. DeBakey Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Houston, TX. She has worked with many sleep pioneers during her career, trained and mentored national and international sleep fellows, young physicians and sleep technologists, and Nurses. Marietta has over 170 publications and presentations on sleep disorders and has presented on sleep technology and sleep education worldwide. She has developed curricula for sleep technology training programs and started one of the first AASM ASTEP programs that trained national and international students.
Marietta is a past recipient of both the Elliott Weitzman Award and the McGregor Award awarded by AAST and received the BRPT Shining Star Award. She coordinates the annual Southern Sleep Society conference.
