Question

What is the LGBTQ Inclusivity in Schools: Self-Assessment Tool?

Answer

The LGBTQ Inclusivity in Schools: Self-Assessment Tool is an assessment tool that social workers as well as school administrators, teachers, students, and parents can use to assess for inclusivity in their school. This tool was put out by the CDC, is free, and is easily accessible via the internet. The LGBTQ Inclusivity in Schools: Self-Assessment Tool is becoming more widely used and is a good place to start.

This assessment tool in particular is a good place to start because it provides an opportunity for social workers, school administrators, and teachers to take a look internally at “what am I individually doing that I could be doing better?” And also, “what do our offices, school policies, classrooms, bathrooms, etc. say about our school and our level of inclusivity?”
