- After this course, participants will be able to define established ethical and legal requirements as stated in Florida’s ethical codes and in Florida’s Chapter 456 (General Provisions).
- After this course, participants will be able to recognize the importance of practitioner competence, and multicultural competence and considerations in working with Latino families.
- After this course, participants will be able to examine confidentiality, informed consent, and limits of confidentiality.
- After this course, participants will be able to identify Florida laws and rules related to the legal requirements for mandated reporting of child and elder abuse.
- After this course, participants will be able to recognize Florida laws and rules as it relates to Social Workers and dual relationships, as well as issues related to sexual relationships with clients.
- After this course, participants will be able to identify the steps social workers can take in responding to suicidal risk, especially as it relates to Florida laws and rules.
- After this course, participants will be able to recognize that some medical conditions share common symptoms with mental health illnesses.
