Help: Self Study Courses
What is a Self Study Course?
Self-study courses include video, text/transcript, and audio courses. Video courses are slideshow presentations with voiceover that are streamed from our website and viewed on your computer. Often, these presentations include multimedia as well. You can play, pause, rewind, and review these courses as needed. You must view the entire video course before the option to fast-forward is available. To save the view progress, you must click the “Bookmark your progress” button below the video player or click the Pause button.
Most video courses are recorded versions of live webinars; others are presentations produced specifically for this format. As the courses are self-paced, you can watch a video during one session or over several sessions. Text courses are original articles offered for CEUs/hours. Audio courses are the audio track of a recorded live webinar with no visual elements; audio courses are similar to podcasts and can be downloaded to your local device.
All self study courses are self-paced. Note you must view the complete self study course to access the exam and earn CEUs/hours. To save the view progress, you must click the “Bookmark your progress” button below the video player or click the Pause button.
Can I earn CE/CEU Hours for a Self Study Course?
YES! The vast majority of self study courses are offered for CEUs/hours, but you must verify which courses are offered and for which credits. Please note that once a self study course is selected, you have 30 days past the selection date to take the CE test and earn CEUs/hours. Note you must view the complete self study course to access the exam and earn CEUs/hours. To save the view progress, you must click the “Bookmark your progress” button below the video player or click the Pause button.

It is at the discretion of the Presenter if there will be any handouts for a given course, therefore, not all video courses will have handouts that can be downloaded and printed out. Download files are typically in PDF format. Click here to download and install Adobe Reader (free).

To move forward or backward within the recording, simply click and drag the time indicator within the player bar. A sample screenshot is shown below highlighting the location of the player bar and play/pause control.
Troubleshooting / What should I do if I cannot access a video course?
Here are the most common steps you can take if you are having trouble accessing a video course:
Step 1: Make note of any error message that you have seen. This will be important if you need to call us for technical support.
Step 2: Video courses are streaming videos that rely upon internet connectivity. To maximize your bandwidth, please close all other windows/programs and utilize a hard-wired connection. If the issues persist, please try another web browser.
